A religious conservative said earlier that education about sex should come from parents and not from teachers?
What if a teen doesn't agree with the parents - doesn't want to be advised into a teen marriage as a virgin and wants to go to college and have safe sexual experiences whilst forging a career as a lawyer from Harvard and maybe marry later in her thirties when she is more mature and has no baggage ie guyren?

This particular GS contributor has railed against masturbation too and has opined that she will advise her growing guyren not to masturbate if she suspects they are doing it.

Dunno about you but I would have gone mental under those conditions as a teen!

Contributor refers to masturbation scoldingly as *pleasuring themselves*

Does this mean the daughter of said person shouild not masturbate, not have sex and become a lawyer from Harvard and actually wait until marriage at thirty until she has an orgasm or sex?
Anyone who comes from a family that doesn't think sex education should be taught in school won't be attending Harvard....they'll be lucky to leave the trailer and get a technical diploma from 'Squirrel Creek Community College' or the like.
USA Sex Education Controversy?
I am not American. I am from a liberal, tolerant (well, mostly) other culture and country.

I just cannot understand all the fuss in the USA over COMPREHENSIVE sex education in schools. When I was 17 and 18 our sex education courses included study of beliefs from the most libertine to the most puritanical. It taught the SCIENCE of the effects of hormones and what these chemicals do to give
young adults overwhelming desires and how to combat them IF WE WISHED TO. It taught how if we wished to give in that the only truly safe way was (no, not with condoms) mutual masturbation, everything else had at least some risk. In fact, one of our texts actually had a chapter teaching (with drawings) how to touch another to give maximum pleasure. The same text was just as explicit about STDs. Why can't Americans bear to have sex ed
classes with this honesty? (By the way, in my culture we have more teen-age sex but 1/2 the teen-age pregnancies and 1/3 the STDs than in America).
It comes down to the values of the collective US in general. The government spends everything they have on the military so they can invade and bomb other nations, steal their oil and pursue global domination as some "superpower". The best way to do this is to spend little on education, keep the voters dumb so that they continue to vote in the current administration. And hey, it seems to be working so I guess they're achieving their objectives eh?
Who think teens think about sex alot?
I do, sorry but i think teens need to use their time with education and masturbation, instead of actually real sex, at least unitl their 18.
Everybody knows that teens think about sex a lot. They were a teen once, too!

And I completely-(ish) agree with you about the sex thing.
Should Sex Eduacatoin Be Taught In KenderGarden?
I can't believe Obama wants to teach sex education to KenderGardeners. The corriclum includes masturbation. He says it's to protect guys. I think it's sick. Teen pregnantcy went through the roof when sex ed started being taught in High School. I can't imagine the curiousity it wold raise for a 5 year old. It just might make guys active at an even younger age. The only sex ed I got in Kendergarden was that Girls Have a Vagina, and boys have a Penis. That was it. And guys don't need to know anymore than that. And even that might of been too much. Do you support Romney in opposing this?
You are severely misinformed.

Actually, the *age-appropriate* sex education that he's endorsing is nothing more than what most guys get in kindergarten, anyway, in safety programs that are already in place. Good & Bad Touches. How to say 'No' & maintain privacy. Age-appropriate hygiene, etc.

""But it's the right thing to do," Obama continued, "to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in schools."

Obama responded to the attack in 2004 by saying that he wants young guyren, including his own daughters, to know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching because he has family members and friends who suffered abuse at early ages.

He also indicated in his 2004 campaign that he thought schools needed state standards which could guide them as they face basic questions about the reproductive system.

"Nobody's suggesting that kindergartners are going to be getting information about sex in the way that we think about it," said Obama in 2004, according to a Daily Herald clip provided by the Obama campaign. "If they ask a teacher 'where do babies come from,' that providing information that the fact is that it's not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing. Although again, that's going to be determined on a case by case basis by local communities and local school boards.'"

Is there any medicine or technique that stops erections?
i'm in my late teens and i want to take illegal or legal pills, injections, anything that will stop erection temporary or permanently

masturbation and sex has only wasted my time, time that i could use for education to make a better person of my self.
I don't know about the legality... but you could take estrogen pills/injections or somehow reduce your body's natural testosterone. It's chemical castration, usually used for sex offenders. Your body needs a balance of hormones to be able to achieve an erection.

Do a search on chemical castration. some methods are reversible, some are not.
Teens, Sexual Tension and Parents, Why is it Taboo?
Besides the 'Birds and the Bees' discussion, I've noticed that a lot of teens have a tendency not to discuss sex with their parents in any form. Why not? It's clearly all over the media and internet, so society has no longer made it a serious 'TABOO' issue to talk about. And I'm not referring to the anatomy that so many teens learn about in school and health classes, I mean the stuff that the state cannot educate guyren on; like an orgasm, an arousal, what exactly sexual tension is, masturbation, the assorted forms it comes in, and some of the symptoms of STDs that educators may not go into fuller detail with. People say that education is the best weapon agains violence, death and disease, but why not sex?
I completely agree with you that it's strange, and I really appreciate the fact that you asked that question in a LITERATE way. =)

I am also fifteen, and it troubles me that my parents and adults in general seem to find it too awkward or "taboo" to discuss anything related to sexuality with me or any other young people. Even in school, while our teachers were teaching us so-called "sex education" they touched on the topic as minimally as possible; nothing even slightly controversial was mentioned. But why does the controversy exist at all? I firmly believe that, as you said, education is the best weapon against many of the negative things in our lives, and many of the repercussions of careless sex would definitely fit into this category. It seems to me that if teens (and even younger guyren!) were better educated about sex and spoken to in a much more open manner about it, there wouldn't be nearly as many teen pregnancies or STDs, as well as emotional, psychological, and academic repercussions of careless sexual decisions. This would not be because teens are going to listen to their parents when they tell them to simply "not have sex," (a concept that many of those anti-drug and anti-smoking ads would suggest.) This would be because the topic would no longer be such a mystery. I think it is this mysteriousness that makes sex so intriguing to teenagers- it is not a concept we are taught to be comfortable with, and therefore we are curious. Many teenagers do not know where to draw the line between their own curiosities and common sense; I suppose that is part of growing up. (We've all done dumb things.)

The vast majority of other teenagers that I have spoken to (in relatively non-awkward discussions, I might add) agree with me that they would like it if adults were more open with them on the subject. Why should sex be treated as such a mystery? If any parents are reading this right now, please take this into consideration.

...So... yeah. =P

to the person three above me, sex is not immoral. doing it with random people is immoral, but not with someone you love. Sex is still a taboo topic with guyren and parents because it is just something uncomfortable to talk about. I know I don't feel comfortable talking about it with my parents.
Why do so many adolescents have unprotected sex?
Everyday, I read here at least two questions from a teens fearing pregnancy. I have read many other questions seriously asking, can I get pregnant from anal sex?, mutual masturbation?, 3 days before or after period?, on and on. There seems to be zero concerns about contracting a STD. They seem oblivious to HIV and Herpes.

Why are teens engaging in sexual activities when they don't even understand the basics?

Is there a lack of sex education?

Stupidity?

No communication in the home about sex?

Birth Control / condoms are difficult to get? Too much trouble? Too embarrassing?

I want teens to answer because I am seriously baffled!
Sex ed has become very sheltered.

There usually is no communication with their parents about sex, they usually go behind their parents' backs. I am the only person out of my friends who's actually came to my parents about sex.

I guess BC/Condoms would be hard to get, because teens can be too embarrassed to go to the store and buy it, or too scared to ask their parents to get them BC. I go to a clinic because I can drive myself.
