Why do some people think strippers are horrible?
They are fine with Victoria secret lingerie models but strippers are bad... | some of its society, some of its jealousy
people have to criticize in some form or fashion
strippers are thought of as cheap, easy girls that should be ashamed of themselves and their way of living
models are thought of as skinny, anorexic brats that grace the runway with things some women could only hope to wear
weird contradiction but thats how society has shaped some women's minds to think. NEW YORK (Reuters) - Lingerie creator Heather Thomson got a jump-start on the New York Fashion Week, turning to some of the city's best pole dancers to display her new line of Yummie Tummie underwear on Thursday.
Clothes designers will present their spring collections at the annual fashion show that opens on Friday along catwalks under tents in New York's Bryant Park.
Thomson chose a novel way to promote her lingerie. She held a competition of dancers who perform gymnastics-like routines on brass poles at some of Manhattan's poshest strip clubs and picked eight to model her Yummie Tummie Shapewear.
The lower level of the West End Cafe near Times Square was transformed into a gentlemen's club where the dancers -- four at a time -- climbed the poles and turned upside down, this way and that, wearing long-line tank tops and camisoles.
The models represented a cross-section of skin colours and body sizes -- from "AA" bra cups to "C" and up.
"Every woman of every size deserves sexy lingerie that can be worn underneath her clothes or that's meant to be seen," Thomson told Reuters during her fashion show.
news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080905/od_u… | | I'd be happy to go to that! :-) | Any suggestions on where can i look for female exotic dancers in philadelphia (other than clubs)? There are plenty of websites with Caucasion dancers but i can't find any with Black or Hispanic ladies. I run an adult novelty business and occasionally will require them for bachelor parties and other things like creative party servers or lingerie models. But the main reason i'm looking now is for instructors for pole dancing and strip tease classes. anybody know of anybody or bodies? | | check your local listings in the yellow pages | Boyfriend not comfortable with me drawing nude self portraits? I am an artist, and have been so all my life. I have drawn ever since I could hold a pencil, and have taken years of classes and the like. I have dabbled in other forms of art as well, music, poetry, photography, and modeling. Recently I have gotten into a relationship, and my boyfriend is very uncomfortable with certain things. Granted I know some of the things I had been interested in are a bit out there (I had always been the type to skinny dip, or participate in the SF No Pants Bart Ride), which I can see why he would be uncomfortable with them.
Recently I was asked to be a model, which I did, with my boyfriend asking I not be a nude model. I can understand where he is coming from with that, not wanting people to see me nude, even though I have wanted to be an art model. I ended up doing a lingerie modeling, which he was still uncomfortable with, but preferred it over me being nude. I have tried to explain the difference being being nude and stripping, a difference between pornographic photos and artistic photos, but for his sake, I have not looked into art modeling.
Though recently I brought up how I would like to do a self portrait of myself in watercolor. It would be nude from the stomach up, showing my breasts. He says he would be fine with me painting it, but not with posting it anywhere, or if I did to have the breasts censored. As an artist, I would not find anything wrong with posting the nude painting of myself, as I mentioned before I do feel there is a difference between expression and art as opposed to pornographic drawings. There are art halls filled with pictures like this. But he is very uncomfortable with anyone seeing me naked, even if it is just a drawing. He asked how I would feel if it were the other way around, and truthfully, I would not mind at all if he drew himself tastefully naked, or was an art model. Its just my opinions on it.
So basically, my point of view is it is art, I have given up art modeling but still as a form of expression would love to paint myself nude, only stomach up just showing breasts. I feel it would only be seen by the art community, fellow artists. It would be done tastefully, it would not be pornographic and it is something I am extremely passionate about.
His point of view is no matter what it is a picture of me naked, and he is not comfortable with other people seeing me naked, which is understandable. But I feel there is a difference from photos and drawings.
Either way, he feel like we are being push overs and giving up a piece of ourselves, so we are both conflicted.
I was wondering what your opinions on the subject would be. | Honestly, you can't blame him for not wanting others to see you naked. I kind of have this thing about letting others see my wife or girlfriend or etc naked. There is me and a doctor or surgeon. NO ONE ELSE!!!
However, you are an artist and artists feel a little more liberal about those things. You need to find someone who is ok with you being a nude model. Otherwise you'll live in regret and THAT will ruin the relationship. Better to cut it off now and save the extra headaches. |
