CHICAGO -- Jesse Jackson criticized Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Sunday, saying Gilbert sees LeBron James as a "runaway slave" and that the owner's comments after the free-agent forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.

Shortly after James announced his decision last week, Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland's fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one. He called James' decision "cowardly" and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.

"He has gotten a free pass," Gilbert told the AP in a phone interview late Thursday night. "People have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Jackson said Gilbert's comments were "mean, arrogant and presumptuous."

"He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers," the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. "His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honored his contract."

Messages were left Sunday night seeking comment from Gilbert, the Cavaliers and James.

Jackson also called Gilbert's comments an attack on all NBA players and said the owner should face a "challenge" from the league and the players' association.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank declined comment.

Jackson hasn't gotten his name in the news for awhile, he was about due.

What exactly is so great about being a political moderate?
In the 19th century, the political moderates opposed the radical abolitionists who sought the abolition of slavery and no compensation for the slave masters, although they also rejected the radically wrong types who defended slavery as a "positive good," rather than just a "necessary evil" or an institution which will slowly be obsolete.

Throughout all of history, the political moderate has stood against both those who are radically correct (Examples include the Abolitionists and the "Reactionaries" who opposed Totalitarian regimes) and those who are radically incorrect (whether defenders of bad traditions such as slavery or people who proposed new ideas that were radically wrong such as Communism and eugenics).

Why exactly should one be a political "moderate" rather than a radical? What is so great about supporting the status quo against those who are radically right? Afterall, what exactly do you gain by defending the middle ground as it moves in the wrong direction instead of pushing a radical agenda that pushes the middle ground in the right direction?

Is this type of lifestyle a valid reason to request modification in visitation?

Try learning about the lifestyle before you judge it. No BDSMer in their right mind would expose guyren to their sexual (or ritualised lifestyle) choices. Fact is, their lifestyle has not a thing to do with you. If they choose to publicise it on the net, that is their business.

For you to request modification of visitation based on their private lifestyle would be as absurd as them requesting a modification because you smoke (for an example) and it could harm the guys (without having the proof that it actually harms them). Like everyone who smokes and has others in the house, precautions are taken to not harm others while doing anything.

It is the same way with BDSM. Precautions are taken to only indulge when no one else (except for the consenting couple or those who consent to seeing activities) are present. Those who don't (or can't) consent are not involved. My partner and I are so careful that we even go as far as to only practice some parts of our lifestyle (the heavier, sexualised, ritualised parts) when the guyren arent even in the house. The rest of the time, all they see is the fact that their father loves me, and that I love him and do nice things for him rather than him doing them for himself.
To meet us, you would have no idea we do what we do, and that is how we like to keep it. We (like many other BDSMers) are intensely private people.

From experience, the most your teenagers would probably see is your ex and his partner in a very "traditional" type relationship, probably not unlike the one people grew up with in the 50s and 60s, a mutually loving, non sexualised relationship, and a man being cared for by a woman. Where is the harm in that?
