Gay Military?????????? If you are gay and there is a draft, can/will you be drafted? What standards make you draft-free? |
Agree with Merchant. If there is a draft in the future, it would really have to be a WW3-type situation, in which case many previous restrictions would be out the window. There has already been talk of future drafts including women and college students, and it would be quite silly to exclude someone from the draft just because of the gender they are attracted to.
I'm pretty sure the only things that would make you draft-free would be medical issues, verifiable conscientous (spelling?) objection, and very bad criminal histories, along with being a first responder. |
Is there any charity that exists to help gay partners and families of deployed military men and women? I am interested in possibly donating or creating a charity specifically for gay families whose partners are deployed in the military, or even in certain situations just need assistance while still here in the US. I have found the military is very generous in the support they provide spouses and guyren of heterosexual soldiers, but there is not private organization set up to help gay military families in need. Can anyone help me learn about options to the gay or ex-gay military members when met with financial hardships, or even just needing support groups and such? |
| None that I've heard of. I would guess that most families with gay service members wouldn't dare risking their loved ones career in the military. Remember Don't Ask Don't Tell is still the policy of all U.S. Military branches. If it ever came out that a soliders family memebers applied for help through this type of organization, that soldier would be thrown out of the military. It's an honorable idea, but probably a little ahead of it's time. |
How do I meet Gay military men? For various reasons, I am interested in marrying a GAY military man (I am a straight female). With the whole "don't ask, don't tell" policy, how would I go about finding these men?
Is the rule that homosexual people in the military aren't allowed to tell others IN the military? Or is it that they are not allowed to discuss it even with civilians while they are serving? |
Haha, that's one of the most unique questions I've seen on here. Yes, there are gay men in the military, but they're usually quite good at hiding it (or at least toning it down.) The matter isn't discussed in his military life, or only to a few trusted friends. He might feel more comfortable making civilian friends that he knows have nothing to do with the military and therefore won't call him out. Though finding a gay military man willing to marry you (for benefits I assume) might take a little effort, might I suggest....
Go to a gay bar near a military post. I go to one near Norfolk naval base all the time with my gay friends. You'd be surprised to walk in and see a sea of high and tight haircuts, the dead giveaway of a military man.
Good luck, haha. |
Who would you rather solute: a gay military soldier or a homophobic military soldier? I'd salute a gay military soldier over an anti-gay military soldier. |
| Yup. Homophobia is no different than racism. |
How is fair for an openly Gay Military man to shower with straight GIs? at the same time, will the military be forced to build gay showers and bathrooms now? |
| I was a Marine for 7 years. I never lived under the delusional thinking that any of the men in the shower were not gay. We depend on folks for their training and accountability under pressure and in some cases under fire. I could care less what he does in his personal life. |
Where can I meet other gay military guys? Where can I go to meet other gay military guys? I live in Maryland near DC and just don't know what places I can go to meet other gay military guys. I don't want to go to a gay club, just looking to meet other discreet military guys online if that's possible. Anyone know where I can go to meet other discreet gay guys in the military? Thanks. |
| Adam4Adam, ManHunt, GayWatch, CraigsList.... any of the standard gay meet markets. |
Would a straight person join a gay military and expose themselves to gays? With the new laws of acceptance of gays in the military, do you think gays will start joining and straight people will avoid the military because they don't want to expose themselves to gays? |
| Do you think "gays will start joining"? Wake up, gay people are already in the military and have been for a long time. |
Do you guys think that they are actually gay people in military? ive always wondered if they are actually gay military mens... cause all of the military people that ive encounter show no signs of gayness in them... or are they just to good to hide it. what do you guys think? |
Yes, there are many gay military men and women, but because of DADT (Don't Ask Don't Tell) they are forbidden to mention it.
I know one heterosexual man in the National Guard, my friend Andrew. My friend Nikki is in the Navy and she is bi, my friend Arantes is a Marine and he's gay, and my friend Mary is in the Air Force and she's lesbian.
And I am gay, and I am 17. After I am out of college I am STRONGLY considering joining the USAF (United States Air Force). |
Would a gay military member have a field day checking out all the guys nonstop in the US Army? I can just imagine what would evolve from this don't ask don't tell policy.
A homosexual military member would take advantage of men sleeping.. they would also take advantage of injured military members - possibly exposing them to sexual acts.
Your president is a joke... Vladimir Putin will always be better than your little pussy weaklings who you vote in for president. Russia is better than United States. |
| With women in almost every military in the world do straight soldiers spend all day checking out them? No. Especially with a voluntary military, the people are there by choice, many as a career, a job. Maybe you spend your entire day at work oogling your coworkers but I doubt if that is the norm in the military. |
Should we have a gay Military and a straight Military ? I think this will solve the don't ask don't tell policy. What do you think ? When the gay army beats Iran, Iran will be the laughing stock of the world. |
No we should not. But that would be a site to see. Soldiers in pink uniforms and fur-lined body armor taking over Iran......
Imagine a citizen of Iran speaking out for gay marriage... They would be shot on sight. |
